Getting Your Student ID Card Started

Did you know that your student ID card is your library card?

Without a student ID card, you won’t have a library account! When your student ID card is created you will be able to do the following:

  • Print and scan
  • Borrow library books
  • Place holds and interlibrary loans
  • Register for a free L-Pass

Upload Your Picture to Online Services

Uploading your photo to Online Services is the first step you need to take to get your student ID card created.

Photo Requirements

  • The photo must be taken in the last 6 months
  • Eyeware that obscures or tints your eyes must NOT be worn
  • Show only your head, face, and shoulders against a neutral background
  • Directly face the camera
  • Natural expressions/smiles welcome
  • The photo must be in colour
  • Do not have other objects or people in the photo
  • No filters
  • JPEG, JPG, or PNG files accepted
  • Photo file size must be under 10MB

“Once your photo has been reviewed by the Registrar’s Office, you will receive an email stating if it has been approved. The approval process may take up to 2 business days.” – CUE Registrar’s Office
