Almost all standard citation styles require you to use a hanging indent when formatting your bibliography, references, or works cited page.
How To Do A Hanging Indent In Microsoft Word
- Select your citation list
- Right-click
- Select Paragraph
- Select “hanging” from the “special” drop-down menu
- Change the indentation to 0.5″ or 1.27 cm
- Click ok
Using Google Docs?
- Highlight your citations list
- Click on the “Format” tab
- Select “align & indent”
- Choose “indentation options”
- Select “hanging” from the special drop down menu
- Click “apply”
