Borrowing Library Reserves

When your professor says that a book or DVD is on reserve,  it means that he or she has specifically asked the library to set that item aside for your class.

To access these reserve items, stop by the Library Service Desk, tell us what class you need the item for and the title of the item you need. (Check your class syllabus for that information.) Unlike all of our other collections, you cannot go up to the shelves and browse the reserve collection.

Loan periods for reserve items are also a bit different. Depending on the length of time your professor has chosen, reserve items can be borrowed for:

  • 2 hours
  • 2 hours and overnight
  • 1 day
  • 3 days
  • 7 days

If you have any questions about library reserves please stop by the Library Service Desk or contact us.
